How to Set Up IPTV on Samsung, LG & Android Smart TVs
Modern Smart TVs are powerful enough to run IPTV on their own — no Firestick or Android box required. The exact steps depend on your TV’s operating system. Below are instructions for the three most common platforms.
Whichever TV you own, you will need your subscription details (an M3U URL or Xtream Codes login). If you do not have them yet, start a free trial.
Samsung Smart TVs (Tizen OS)
Samsung TVs run Tizen and use the Samsung Apps store.
- Open the Samsung Apps store from the home screen.
- Search for an IPTV player such as IPTV Smarters or Smart IPTV (SIPTV).
- Install and open the app. For Smart IPTV, note the MAC address it displays.
- Enter your Xtream Codes login, or upload your M3U playlist via the app’s web portal.
Tip: Smart IPTV often requires a small one-time activation fee on its website using your TV’s MAC address. IPTV Smarters avoids this.
LG Smart TVs (webOS)
LG TVs use webOS and the LG Content Store.
- Open the LG Content Store.
- Search for IPTV Smarters, Smart IPTV, or Net IPTV.
- Install and launch the player.
- Add your service using the Xtream Codes login or M3U URL.
The process mirrors Samsung; the only difference is the app store you start from.
Android TV & Google TV
Sony, Philips, TCL, Hisense, and Nvidia Shield typically run Android TV or Google TV, which gives you the full Google Play Store.
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Install TiviMate (best EPG), IPTV Smarters Pro, or XCIPTV.
- Open the app and enter your login details.
Android TV generally offers the smoothest experience and the widest app choice. See our player app comparison to choose.
If your TV has no suitable app
Some budget or older Smart TVs have a limited app store. In that case, the cheapest fix is a Fire TV Stick or an Android TV box plugged into a spare HDMI port — both run every major IPTV player. Follow our Firestick setup guide if you go that route.
Getting the best picture
For reliable HD and 4K on a Smart TV, a wired Ethernet connection beats Wi-Fi whenever possible. If you must use Wi-Fi, keep the TV within good range of the router. Picture freezing? Our buffering guide walks through every fix.
Once your app is configured, you are done — channels and VOD load straight onto the TV. Need a subscription? Compare plans or go for a one-time lifetime package.
